We are a National Safe Place. And we’re here to help.
When kids and teens find themselves in crisis or need a place to stay, they should know how and where to get help. Our nation’s young people deserve safety and shelter and many youth feel that, at home, they don’t have either. Thankfully, help for teens is just a phone call away.
National Safe Place is an outreach program designed to provide access to immediate help and safety for all youth in crisis. YSCC has teamed with Safe Place as a community initiative that designates local youth-friendly businesses and community buildings a Safe Place sites where youth can access help and supportive resources.
Safe Place locations work to extend the doors of YSCC by providing a safe, friendly location that supports teens in crisis situations, creating a safety net for youth. Youth only need get to a Safe Place location and state that the they are in need of a Safe Place. The site will contact YSCC for further assistance. YSCC trained staff, together with the youth, will determine the next step to ensure youth safety.
